*blush* I haven't had time to add OpenID or Infocards to my blog yet.

It's kind of sad. But I've been going full out pretty well since I moved away from wordpress.com and had the capability to do all the fun stuff...

Plus I'm *this* close to a NO-HTTP information card plugin.

Ok now i'm incented :-D

I'd count myself amongst the regulars that weren't there this year (though I've been to more Catalyst Europe events in the past than North America). It's a shame, as I get the feeling from what I've seen on blogs, twitter etc. that there was plenty of fresh new stuff happening. My sense from afar is that 'cloud' is causing as much excitement in '09 as 'SOA' was in '04 (with a corresponding livening up of the identity conversation in order to respond to new challenges).

You're pretty much spot on with the reasons why people weren't there. If you're still in the same old corporate job, then the likelihood is that the travel budget just evaporated. And if you left that corporate job for something new then there are all sorts of other pressures on time and money.

My sense from talking to the analysts that I count as friends is that there's no change in Burton policy on the 'customer point of view' speakers, so maybe I'll be back at Catalyst Europe next year.

P.S. I'm really surprised that you don't allow OpenID etc. logins to leave comments (though I'm writing from Chrome, which I haven't even tried to get Information Cards working with yet).
